Fourteen Zimbabwean citizens died when a Masmery bus overturned in Makhado town in Limpopo Province in South Africa on Monday. The accident occurred on the highway that links South Africa and Zimbabwe; the N1. Names of the deceased, where the bus was going and other details are still to be ascertained. It is said however that about four children are among the dead.

ER24 (SA ambulance service) spokesperson Russel Meiring said officials were investigating the exact cause of the accident.

An update was received this morning that 14 people had sustained numerous fatal injuries. ER24, as well as various other medical services on the scene, treated the 36 other patients found on the scene. Once treated, the patients were transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further care
