It has been a long road that has passed through a lot of uncertainty but if all goes well, students who registered for June exams should be able to start writing today at their respective centres. According to the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Cain Mathema, everything is now in place and the exams will begin later this morning as has been scheduled.
The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education would like to advise parents/guardians, learners and the public that the Zimsec June 2012 Examinations are set to commence as scheduled on Tuesday, the 30th of June 2020. The examination timetable, as announced by Zimsec, will be adhered to.
The Ministry would like to assure the nation that necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of candidates and invigilators during the course of the examinations.
To this end, thermometers, disinfectants, face masks, wash facilities and hand sanitisers have been procured for all examination centres. Examination centres have also been disinfected in line with Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) guidelines

The authorities are insisting on conducting these exams despite objections and calls for concern from various quarters including teachers who are supposed to invigilate who have expressed alarm over the fact that there might not be enough PPE to ensure their safety. There is also the fact that learners were last in school back in March and the government has frustrated most efforts by some schools to introduce online lessons.
So this effectively means that a lot of students are being thrown into the deep end with scant preparation.
