In an previous article we reported that the president for the rural teachers union, Almalgamated Rural Teacher’s Union of Zimbabwe, Obert Masaraure was now a wanted man after a Harare magistrate issued a warrant for his arrest following allegations of violating bail conditions.

Mr Masarure’s lawyer, Doug Coltart has just confirmed that his client has been arrested again. He was arrested as an enforcement of this warrant.

@ARTUZ_teachers president Obert Masaraure has been arrested in Wedza for allegedly violating his bail conditions. This morning he released [this] statement: he insists that on 14 June he reported at Hwedza Police Station.

Please pray for the safety of @ARTUZ_teachers president Obert Masaraure who has just been arrested again. 

 Since December, he’s been abducted and tortured twice, arrested 4 times, imprisoned and denied medical treatment. The State is persecuting him for standing up for teachers.
