- The Portuguese grew the following crops in their prazos:
- Rice
- Maize
- Groundnuts
- Cotton
- Coffee
- Tea
- Burley
N.B The Portuguese introduced some of these crops to Zimbabwe and Africa for the first time for example maize. They also introduced cassava in other parts of Africa.
